DESCRIPTION:
Ready-Strip® Wallpaper Stripper is a one of a kind wallpaper stripper. Just spray it on, when the color fades it signals the stripper has penetrated the wallpaper and is ready to be removed. Surface Preparation:
1.) Traditional Uncoated Wallpaper: No preparation needed.
2.) Washable Wallpaper: Use a perforation tool to score the surface which will allow the wallpaper stripper with to penetrate into the adhesive (paste) bonding the wallpaper to the surface.
3.) Paper-backed Vinyl Wallpaper: Remove the vinyl outer layer by loosening a corner and pulling. The remaining paper needs no further preparation and can easily be removed with the wallpaper stripper. If vinyl wallpaper cannot be peeled, score the surface first with a perforation tool.
4.) Wallpaper Covered Over with Paint: Score the surface with a perforation tool which will allow the penetration into the adhered paste that bonds the wallpaper to the surface.
5.) Wallpaper Borders: Wallpaper borders use a different type of adhesive and cannot be removed with the Ready-Strip® Wallpaper Stripper. It is best to soak the borders with warm water repeatedly, then try carefully to remove the border.
6.) Protect carpet, floors, furniture and any areas not being stripped. Mask any areas not being stripped with plastic and masking tape.
Directions for Use:
1.) Spray Ready-Strip® Wallpaper Stripper on the surface to be stripper.
2.) The purple color will gradually change to a ‘clear’, indicating that the stripper has penetrated into the outer layer of wallpaper and is ready to be removed. This takes about 10 minutes.
3.) When paste is softened, remove one section at a time using a plastic or metal scraper or putty knife, starting removal at a corner or an edge.
4.) If only top layer of paper is removed and wallpaper backing is still attached to wall, re-apply Ready-Strip® Wallpaper Stripper. Wait for color to change to clear. This will take place in about 2-5 minutes. Remove paper using a plastic or metal scraper or putty knife, starting removal at a corner or an edge.
5.) After paper has been removed, apply additional stripper to remove residual layers and paste. Do a final wash with warm water.
6.) Clean stripped surfaces with mixture of household bleach and water (1/2 cup to 1 gallon of warm water) to destroy any mildew present. Allow surface to thoroughly dry before re-wallpapering or painting.
7.) Clean any applicators used with warm water.
8.) For stubborn surfaces another application may be necessary.
